 Lionel Messi has broken the Champions League's all time top scorer record by netting a hat-trick against Apoel Nicosia taking his goal tally to 74 goals.

Messi who broke his second record in four days after breaking the Spanish league top flight all time scoring record of 251 goals that has stood for 59 years over the weekend by also hitting a hat-trick, broke Raul Gonzalez's Champions League record of 71 goals in 91 games. A feat Raul achieved in 142 games.
