Man gains 12.7kg in a month drinking 10 cans of coke a day
Meet George Prior the 50 year old who did a fizzy challenge on himself to show the effects of the amount of sugar in coke.
He drank 10 330ml cans of coke a day which is equivalent to 10 bottles of 33cl, and 6.7 bottles of 50cl (OROBO) coke per day for 30 days and gained 12.7kg (28 pounds) during the period.
See the effect coke had on his blood pressure after the cut...
The husband and father of 2 said he transformed from a healthy and muscular physique to a pot-bellied love handle and moobs. He also said his blood pressure went up from 129/77 at the beginning to 145/96 at the end of his personal research.
He confessed he feared he was becoming addicted to coke after experiencing intense craving for the product.
During the month, George tried to stick to his normal healthy diet of meat and berries but said he found it hard to eat as much food because the Coke left him full at lunch and dinner times.
And he also had this to say "I'm urging people to examine the amount of sugar in their diets. People need to be aware of the real and powerful damaging effects of sugar on their health. I did it to get people thinking and talking about how much sugar they eat and how unhealthy it is".
And this was his advice "Kids shouldn't drink Cokes. But then kids shouldn't drink juices, either, and that's going to be a very hard sell to parents who believe that juice is 'natural' or even 'organic'. It's sugar, and not only do kids not need it, it's bad for them.
"I think there are a lot of people suffering health problems like diabetes and heart disease, who aren't aware they could help themselves by just stopping sugar."
